Make sure to extinguish your lighter before turning Flame Height Adjuster.ĬAUTION: A high flame is dangerous, and also causes your lighter to malfunction. If the gas tank is full and your lighter produces a weak or low flame, turn up Flame Height Adjuster on the bottom of the lighter to the desired level by turning counterclockwise. If the gas tank is empty, refill rather than turning Flame Height Adjuster higher. Low or weak flame is caused by: 1) the empty gas tank or 2) the low flame height setting. Continue to adjust Flame Height Adjuster until the flame height reaches the desired level. If it does not ignite or the flame is low, turn Flame Height Adjuster a quarter turn counterclockwise and try again. Hold the lighter away from face and ignite it. Let the lighter sit for about 2 minutes and do not ignite it until the butane gas in the tank reaches room temperature. Under hot weather, gas will expand and damage the tank if it is filled 100% full.
Repeat this until the gas tank is about 80% full. Refill the lighter in an upside down position as shown above in the REFILLING INSTRUCTIONS.Īfter shaking the butane gas refill can, press the refill nozzle directly onto Refill Inlet Valve of the lighter and let butane gas go into the tank for about 5 seconds. In this case, the air in the gas tank has been drained. If butane gas comes out of Refill Inlet Valve when it is pressed down, stop bleeding the gas tank immediately. The air in the gas tank prevents butane gas from being fully injected and also causes the lighter to malfunction. Hold the lighter away from your face when taking the air out. Take the air out of the gas tank by pressing Refill Inlet Valve with a small screwdriver until no hissing sound is heard.
In order to prevent an unexpectedly high flame after refilling, turn Flame Height Adjuster on the bottom of the lighter to the lowest setting by turning the adjuster clockwise with a small screwdriver.
